Putin: Global economy recovery to take long, need special measures

NEW YORK, Sep 22 (PRIME) -- The scale of the global economy’s shock linked to the coronavirus pandemic cannot be evaluated yet, the recovery will take long, and will need unusual decisions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the 75th session of the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday.

“The experts are still to appraise the full scale of the social and economic shock, linked to the pandemic, all its distant consequences. But it is already clear that the recovery of the global economy will take us long, very long,” he said.

Russia’s suggestions to introduce “green corridors” for trade free of trade wars and sanctions, including corridors for food trade, are especially urgent today, Putin also said.
